A half day tour to Vinci to discover the origin of the genius of Leonardo, and visit to a local farm

Let’s discover the most emblematic men of the Italian Renaissance: Leonardo da Vinci! He was born in Vinci on 1452; he spent there his childhood and adolescence and Vinci still preserves the same urban and countryside landscape it had when the young genius started his investigation of the natural phenomena, and made his first hydraulic experiments in the small river of the town. We’ll visit the local museums, Leonardo’s birthplace, and we’ll walk beautiful rolling hills with olive groves and vineyard. I am not going to give you a lecture – unless you want to – I will be informative but I won’t overdo with too many dates and names, I will make your visit fun with anecdotes and legends, you will have time to enjoy a coffee or an ice cream: I know you are here on holiday and your holiday is meant to be enjoyable and fun!

I’ll meet you in Vinci, at the ticket office of Museo Leonardiano, in Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, 26, or in another agreed spot in Vinci, or in Empoli Train Station.

Visit to:

  • Leonardo Museum (inside – dedicated to his work as scientist, technologist and engineer)
  • The Church of the Holy Cross (inside – to see the baptismal font where Leonardo was baptized)
  • Leonardo’s birthplace in Anchiano (inside – the house where Leonardo was born).
  • Leonardo and His Paintings (inside – a exhibition that hosts full scale, HD reproductions of all Leonardo’s paintings)

With me as your guide it will be easier for you to listen and follow the tour, and I’ll be happy to accommodate your requests by going faster through sites that don’t interest you or stopping longer to see what’s more relevant to you.
